VISION

GYD’s vision is to reinvigorate the Adventist youth movement, emphasizing service, sharing the gospel, and preparing for Christ’s second coming. True faith is demonstrated through acts of kindness and love, showing the world the hope found in Jesus.

Preparation for the Big Day

Before

Before

Before

In February, the Tshedza Midrand SDA Church began preparing for GYD by forming three committees: one for the week of prayer sermons, one for branding (hello, t-shirts!), and another to organize the GYD program itself. The youth department led these efforts, with invaluable support from Adventist Community Services, Adventist Men’s Organization, and Health and Personal Ministries, ensuring collaboration across all church departments.

Week Of Prayer

The excitement built as the youth—Adventurers, Pathfinders, Ambassadors, and Senior Youth—came together for a week of prayer from March 8–14, 2025. The week kicked off with a powerful onsite presentation and was followed by energizing Zoom sessions. The week ended with an in-person finale, where the church packed grocery bags and clothes for community outreach.

Outreach Activities

On GYD, the church divided into two groups to serve at distribution sites in Noordwyk and Vorna Valley. Health screenings were provided at both sites, and the outreach brought joy to many as food and clothing parcels were distributed. Remaining items will be used in the next outreach event, and the church is already planning more frequent and larger outreach initiatives.
